Subscribers to American Woodworker magazine have reported that they've received renewal notifications, subscription offers, and invoices in the mail (as well as by phone) from numerous companies that are not authorized representatives or agents of American Woodworker. This is a problem throughout the magazine industry that negatively affects valued subscribers as well as both large and small publishers, as outlined in this article on MSNBC:
We do not share our mailing list with these companies, nor do we ever intentionally fill orders from them or authorize them to sell American Woodworker in any way. The offers these companies send are under many different names and addresses, but the forms the companies use are generally the same. Samples of the forms these companies send out are below.
If you received a renewal notice, invoice, or call that you suspect is
not from American Woodworker, please contact our subscription customer
service department immediately by:
• calling 1-800-666-3111
• e-mailing firstname.lastname@example.org
• mailing the details to American Woodworker, P.O. Box 420235, Palm Coast, FL 32142-0235
