I'm not professing to know everything about materials, but is it safe to make radiator covers out of MDF?  I'm assuming that the radiator cover will at some point become heated.  And doesn't the heating of MDF release the gaseous form of the formaldehyde adhesive that holds the MDF together?

I'm not criticizing, merely asking if that's safe and true.

NO GASES WILL COME FROM MDF.AS ALL MDF HERE IN THE UK HAS BEEN TESTED TREATED BEFORE WE USE IT HERE.MDF IS ONLY DANGEROUSE IF YOU TURN IT, SAW IT, PLANE IT OR EVEN SAND IT.THE DUST IS WORSE THAN ASBESTOS.THATS WHY WHEN I USE MDF  I USE A MASK AND ALL EXTRACTORS BLOWERS ARE ON FULL POWER..MDF WILL NOT GIVE OF VAPOURS IF TREATED AND PAINTED CORRECTLY.THATS WHY WE HERE HAVE RADIATOR PAINT WHICH WE USE ON MDF.MOST PAINT IT ON,I SPRAY IT ON AND COMPLETELY COVER THE MDF.UNLESS YOU MAKE A RADIATOR COVER AND ONLY PAINT THE OUTSIDE,THEN MAYBE YOU MAY GET FUMES.BUT HERE MY RADIATORS ONLY GO ON FOR 10 MINUTES IN THE MORNING AND 10 IN THE EVENING.JUST TO TAKE CHILL OUT OF ROOM TEMPERTURE. OTHER THAN THAT THEY ARE JUST FOR SHOW.

AS TO MDF ALWAYS USE INTERNATIONAL OR JOHNSTONES MDF PRIMER BEFORE USING RADIATOR PAINT AND SPRAY NOT PAINT ON.
