Oops! Tongues Refuse to Fit Grooves

I made this cool looking door panel by making cove cuts on my tablesaw. Cool looking, yes, but  the tongue profiles swelled right at the end, so they wouldn't fit the grooves in the stiles and rails. Go figure.

By reviewing my procedure, I learned that the solution lies in the set up. Cutting coves on the tablesaw requires setting a diagonal auxilliary fence at the top dead center of the blade. If the fence is located behind the blade's center (this was my mistake) the tongue's sawn profile will get thicker at the end.

This mishap is part of a much bigger story. Click here to see how to make coved doors  on the tablesaw.
