These blocks are like a spare pair of hands for assembling drawers and many kinds of cabinets. Make them out of 3⁄4-in. plywood with dadoes the width of your stock.

Good idea!

I think that you can replace dadoes with four small squares, fixed on one the big square, with distance between them the width of your stock (I'm not native English speaker, sorry about any mistakes :-)
