Spice Cabinet Secret Drawer

RATE THIS:

What's behind the door of Al Hudson's William and Mary Spice Cabinet?

A beautifully-proportioned set of small drawers.

Behind the drawers, there's a very cleverly designed secret drawer. To access this drawer, you must first remove two drawers from the cabinet. Then you pull on the false divider between them. Neat!

This cabinet was featured in AW#143, August/September, 2009, in a story about making line and berry inlay. To give you a sense of scale, the cabinet is 18-5/8" tall, 12-3/4" wide and 11-1/4" deep. The drawers removed from the cabinet are 3-1/4" high and 5-3/4" deep.

Yes, would like to see complete plans.  Proportion seems wrong.  Is depth actually 11 1/4 in?

Yes, of course, post the complete plans. I think I can replicate them but it would be very helpful and include things I would probably overlook. Very attractive project.

A beautiful piece I would like to try and build.  A full article and plans would be very helpful.  Scaling from the picture is doable but plans remove all the mistakes and wasted wood.  The dimensions above seem odd!

If this is Spice Cabinet in the southeast Florida area, BEWARE.  They will take your money and leave your job half finished.  VERIFY THAT LICENSE NUMBERS ARE THEIRS (NOT BORROWED OR BOUGHT FROM ANOTHER COMPANY) and DO NOT GIVE MORE THAN 50% DOWN... they will take your money and run.

Names of scammers: Roger Spice, Kenneth Spice, Michael Spice, Douglas Peterson, Group One Construction.

Please be careful.
