Amana 3D Router Bits

Amana Tool, manufacturer of industrial-quality carbide-tipped, solid carbide and replacement carbide cutting tools, today announced its new corner rounding 3D router bit. The carbide-tipped router bit was designed exclusively with master craftsman Lonnie Bird to enable woodworkers to more easily create rounded profiles and compound curves, including sharp curves. The bit is specifically designed for freehand routing using table-mounted routers and delivers smooth, consistent cuts that don’t gouge the wood.

Unlike standard corner rounding bits that only shape stock that curves along a single plane, the Amana router bit can round the edges of compound curves. The unique corner rounding 3D bit is designed with both a guide bearing and a guide ring around the outer perimeter of the cutting surfaces. With the two guides, woodworkers can simply follow the contour of the work piece to create rounded compound curves on items such as skateboards, chair slats and curvilinear table and chair legs. Tipped with a special carbide grade, the bits last longer than standard router bits and deliver an optimal edge finish. Each corner rounding 3D router bit is manufactured to Amana’s stringent quality standards.

Amana’s corner rounding 3D router bits are available in 1/8” (#49528, $89.78 USD) and 1/4” (#49529, $91.80 USD) radii, both with 1/2” shank diameter.
