Woodworking Tool News - Racor® Ladder Lift

Racor® launches new solution to store ladders.

Today, the Number One bulky storage problem in the garage is where to put the ladder. Ladders are large, heavy, and storage has always been a problem. But that problem is a thing of the past because the new Racor® Ladder Lift is the easy, innovative way to store any ladder overhead and free up extra garage space.

Typically, ladders are hung along the wall and take up valuable wall space, and ladders can weigh up to 150 pounds, so it is never easy to lift them onto wall hooks. The Racor® Ladder Lift uses a rope-and-pulley system along with a fixed hook that is mounted on the ceiling. Now homeowners can easily lift and lower a 150 pound ladder up to 12 feet by simply lifting the ladder onto the fixed hook, attaching the strap to the bottom of the ladder and pulling on the rope. In fact, it is so easy to store that mom or your teenage son or daughter can handle storing an 80 pound ladder with little or no help.

The rope-and-pulley system and fixed hook do most of the work, making the typical 80 pound ladder feel like it weighs just 10 pounds – an 8:1 mechanical advantage. In addition a unique locking mechanism holds the rope securely in place to prevent accidental release.

The Ladder Lift comes with installation brackets and hardware and installs in a few easy steps, using just a few tools, such as drill and screwdriver, which most homeowners have on hand.

The Racor® Ladder Lift will be available in June 2012 at Home Centers and Hardware Stores. Its suggested retail price is $49.99. For more information, contact Racor toll free at 1-800-783-7725, or
